The present set-up consists of a reactor vessel fitted with a variable speed agitator and detachable baffles. This unit is designed to study chemical kinetics. Reactants are fed to the reactor, using a pump, and flow is regulated and monitored by individual Rotameter.


Description

The present set-up consists of a reactor vessel fitted with a variable speed agitator and detachable baffles. This unit is designed to study chemical kinetics. Reactants are fed to the reactor, using a pump, and flow is regulated and monitored by individual Rotameter. An adjustable overflow device is provided in the reactor to conduct the experiment on different reactor volumes. A Stainless Steel Coil is immersed in the reactor through which the hot water supply is circulated. The temperature of the hot water is controlled by means of a Temperature Controller and it enables the students to enhance their experimentation capabilities

Utilities Required
• Electricity Supply: Single Phase, 220 VAC, 50 Hz, 5-15 Amp combined socket with earth connection. Earth voltage should be less than 5 volts.
• Water Supply
• Floor Drain.
• Floor Area Required: 1.5 m x 1 m.
• Instruments, Laboratory wares, and Chemicals required for analysis as per the system adopted

Reactor: Material SS, Capacity (1-2) Ltrs.
• Agitator: Variable speed with speed control facility from 0 – 150 RPM.
• Impeller: 4 Square bladed (1 No.), Material- Stainless Steel.
• Baffles: Detachable.
• Piping: PVC.
• Feed Tank (2Nos.): Material Stainless Steel, Capacity 20 Ltrs. Each
• Discharge Tank (1No.): Material PVC, Capacity 40 Ltrs.
• Water Bath: Material Stainless Steel, Double wall, insulated with Ceramic Wool.
• Heater: Nichrome wire Heater
• Pumps (3Nos.): 2 Nos. (for Chemical), 1 No. (for hot water circulation).
• Control Panel comprises of Digital Temp. Controller: PID Controller, 0-200°C (For Water Bath) With Standard make on/off switch, Mains Indicator, etc.
• An ENGLISH instruction manual consisting of experimental procedures, block diagram, etc. will be provided along with the Apparatus.
• The whole set-up is well designed and arranged on a rigid structure painted with industrial PU Paint
