The set-up is used to study a photocatalytic reaction using a UV source provided in the form of a UV tube. This setup can be used to carry out a parameter study under batch/continuous flow conditions. A photocatalyst like TiO2 can be used. This set-up can also be used to study the mineralization of liquid effluent industrial streams & for the purification of water. The set-up consists of the reactor with an inside reflecting surface. A UV source surrounding glass/quartz cylinder is placed centrally in the reactor

Utilities Required
• Electricity Supply: Single Phase, 220 VAC, 50 Hz, 5-15 Amp combined socket with earth connection. Earth voltage should be less than 5 volts.
• Water Supply.
• Floor Drain.
• Instruments, Laboratory wares, and Chemicals required for analysis as per the system adopted.

UV Source : 30 W / 16 W
• Reactor: With inside reflective surface. Effective volume of reactor 1-1.5 Ltrs.
• Feed Tank: Material Stainless Steel, Capacity 5 Ltrs.
• Feed circulation: Magnetic Pump made of Polypropylene. Maximum working temperature 80°C.
• Flow Measurement: By Rotameter
• Control panel comprising of Standard make the on-off switch, Mains Indicator, fuse, power supply to UV source, etc.
• Sampling points are provided at the inlet & outlet of the reactant line.
• An ENGLISH instruction manual consisting of experimental procedures, block diagram, etc. will be provided along with the Apparatus.
• The whole set-up is well designed and arranged on a rigid structure painted with industrial PU Paint.
